There’s a different kind of pressure when you’re styling for family. For my niece’s wedding, I wanted it to feel incredibly special, I also wanted it to feel grounded, not like a stiff, formal gallery, but a space where people could actually relax and enjoy the evening.
The tablescape in shows how we brought that “cosy sophistication” to life. It’s all about layering small, meaningful touches rather than one giant, overwhelming centerpiece.
Creating the Atmosphere:
- The Seasonal Palette: We leaned into autumnal tones—honey-toned candles, deep greens, and dried leaves at each place setting. It feels quite connected to the outside world, which I find always puts guests at ease.
- Varied Heights: By mixing tall taper candles with low votives and small bud vases, you create a sense of movement across the table. It looks curated but keeps the lines of sight clear for conversation.
- Simple Transitions: Notice how the plain white linens act as a blank canvas. It allows the brass textures and the soft pink of the roses to really stand out without the table feeling cluttered.
Anna’s Suggestion:
Try using natural elements as place card holders—a single, beautiful dried leaf is a lovely, low-cost way to add texture. It’s a simple win that makes each guest feel thought of, and it’s completely faff-free to set up on the day.
A beautiful, intentional space for a very special celebration.
